Wilmington Grammar Sixth Form A Level Success!
Wilmington Grammar School for Boys and Wilmington Grammar School for Girls are proud to celebrate an exceptional year of A Level success for our joint Sixth Form, WG6. Students have achieved an outstanding set of results, reflecting their talent, determination and the dedication of our WG6 staff team.
Robert Atkins and Alex Watson (Heads of WG6) said:
“The team at WG6 are so proud of the achievements of all our students. We have many students going off to top universities to study a variety of courses but also students that are pursuing next steps that are right for them – we are equally proud of all of them. Some of the hurdles and difficulties that our students have overcome shows the indefatigable spirit that our students have at WG6. The class of 2025 were an outstanding year group in terms of academics, spirit and personality and we wish them every success for their futures.”
Stuart Harrington, Headteacher of WGSB commented:
“We are incredibly proud of our students – not only for their excellent grades, but for the ambition and positivity they have shown throughout their Sixth Form journey. These results open doors to leading universities, competitive apprenticeships and exciting career opportunities. We couldn’t be more delighted for them!”
Many WG6 students will be taking up places at prestigious universities, while others have secured highly competitive degree apprenticeships and vocational pathways, including;
Genevieve Norton who achieved A*, A*, A, commented (picture from her school Prom below) “I am going to study history at Warwick this year but I would have never gotten this far without WG6 and all of the support I have received from year 7 to year 13. A massive thanks to all of the staff, especially my A-Level teachers, Mrs Wheatley and Miss Martin for always believing in me, even when I doubted myself.”
Yakshana Nareshkumar (pictured below), who achieved A, A, A said “I’m so happy to have achieved these results and enter medicine. Thank you to all my teachers!”
Keeley Lewis said, “I’m so unbelievably happy with my results and that I can now go on to study Psychology at Nottingham. Being at Wilmington for the past six years has made this possible – thanks to my excellent teachers and, of course, the psychology online textbook, which I think will be burned into my memory for the rest of time”
Ella Jackson added “I’m very pleased with my results and looking forward to my next journey at University of East Anglia. I want to thank Wilmington Grammar for all the opportunities they have given me and the teachers for their support.”
Sisters, Ella and Rachel Chance (Ella’s studying Criminology with Forensic Investigation at Portsmouth and Rachael studying Law at Southampton) added “We are both so excited to start our new adventures at different unis, we won’t be that far from each other though! Rachael is so thankful for all the support she has received from Year 7 through to Year 13, and Ella has felt so welcomed from joining in Year 12”
George Baldwin, who achieved A*, A, A will be studying Finance at Kings College London, said “I’m so happy with my results and can’t wait to start Uni in September!”
Special mention must also go to the very many students who achieved well beyond their expected grades. The individual achievements of every student must not be underestimated.
