That’s why we’re excited to be in the process of finalising our Behaviour for Learning Policy – a fresh, forward-thinking framework designed to support every learner in reaching their full potential.

Rooted in our REACH values, Respect and Resilience, Equality, Achievement, Community, and Honesty and Integrity – this policy isn’t just about rules. It’s about building a culture where kindness, ambition, and personal responsibility are celebrated every day.

Below are some of our key focus and aspects of development that we will share with you prior to January:

  • Positive reinforcement at the heart: From verbal praise to reward points and celebration events, we’re committed to recognising students who consistently embody our values and try to think differently about what students would like in terms of rewards.
  • Partnership with parents and carers: We know that success is a team effort. Our policy will aim to strengthen the home-school connection, ensuring families are informed, involved, and empowered.
  • Clear expectations, consistent
  • Support: With structured interventions and a transparent ladder of sanctions, we want to ensure students know what’s expected and how we’ll help them get there.

We’re proud of the community we’re building, one where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to succeed. The Behaviour for Learning Policy is more than a document; it’s a promise to uphold the standards that make Wilmington Grammar School for Girls as a place of excellence.

We will be sharing the policy with you over the course of this term and look forward to your ongoing support.

Introducing Teacher of English Miss Anderson. “We are delighted to welcome Miss Anderson to our English department. In the featured lesson with Year 7, she brought Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life, guiding students through Helena’s lovesick behaviour with energy and insight. The classroom buzzed with discussion as students mapped out their ideas, deepening their understanding of the play’s themes and twists. Miss Anderson’s passion for literature and her creative approach promise to make English lessons both inspiring and unforgettable.” Miss Selby, Head of English
