GCSE Celebrations!

Wilmington Girls Grammar school is celebrating another year of very positive results for students.

 This is a year group who have had to overcome a huge number of challenges in their educational journey but have ensured they demonstrate their resilience to achieve grades in line with previous cohorts. Dave Fuller, Headteacher said, “This year group have shown their determination to succeed and overcome a number of personal and educational challenges to ensure they can progress to their desired next steps. I am very proud of each and every one of them”.

The proportion of students achieving secure grades across their subjects has ensured a large majority are able to enrol into WG6 on their desired courses. The proportion of grades at 6+ has risen from last year whilst the proportion of grades at 7+ has remained similar, giving a secure platform for their futures. There have been particular strength in performance from Nelly H, Ife A, Lithi S, Naiya P and Tomisin A – who achieved all Grade 8 and 9 across all of their 11 subjects.

A huge thank you to the hard-working staff in supporting the students in their achievements and congratulations to all the students that should be rightly proud of their excellent results.

A tiny selection of our wonderful students are below;

Ife Abraham – 12 GCSEs – nine Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and one Grade 7. Ife added “I am delighted and grateful to God to announce that I have received all As. I am so grateful for all of the support that I received both from my family at home and here at WGSG, from every single staff member (both teaching and non-teaching). If it wasn’t for the food, the clean toilets, the pastoral support, the education, and my friends, I wouldn’t have achieved so much here. Thanks to every one of you, I wish you all the best in life. 🩷🩷🎊🎉”

Lithi S K – 11 GCSEs – seven Grade 9 and four Grade 8s. Lithi commented “Hard work may take time, but consistency never fails! Thank you so much for the support and wishes. I’m so incredibly grateful to my family for their unwavering support and love throughout this journey. It took time, patience, and a lot of hard work, but I’m so glad I kept pushing through. Now, I’m ready to turn the page and step into the next chapter of my life with excitement and gratitude. I can’t wait to see what’s ahead.”
